Knowing The Word in 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, Final Greetings

11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All the saints greet you.

Paul takes his last parting shots at getting the brothers and sisters in Christ in Corinth to move to a healthy place by aiming for restoration, comforting one another, and living in peace. And they can do this because they have been reconciled through the cross of Christ and become one family. The holy kiss was a family sign that demonstrated mutual acceptance. Will they offer that same kiss of acceptance to him?

Most gracious Father, we humbly beseech thee for thy holy catholic Church. Fill it with all truth; in all truth with all peace. Where it is corrupt, purify it; where it is in error, direct it; where anything is amiss, reform it; where it is right, strengthen and confirm it; where it is in want, furnish it; where it is divided and rent asunder, make up the breeches of it, O thou holy one of Israel.

Archbishop Bull, 1571-1645
