This is called Jesus’ “Sermon on the Plain” because he came down and stood on a “level place.” Jesus’ popularity has reached an all-time high. People are coming from everywhere because they have heard of him and his teaching and healing abilities, which are second to none.
17 And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, 18 who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. 19 And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.
Prayer:
Jesus, preaching good tidings to the poor,
proclaiming release to the captives,
setting at liberty them that are bound,
I adore thee.
Jesus, Friend of the poor,
Feeder of the hungry,
Healer of the sick,
I adore thee.
Jesus, denouncing the oppressor,
instructing the simple,
going about doing good,
I adore thee.
Jesus, Teacher of patience,
Pattern of gentleness,
Prophet of the kingdom of heaven,
I adore thee.
