5 Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. 6 Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.
Paul is speaking sarcastically of the false apostles by calling them “super-apostles.” While he may not be as well trained as they are in slick presentations and capturing the attention of the gullible, he knows the gospel better than they do. His gospel does not contain secret knowledge but is plain spoken.
Dear Lord, give me the truths which are veiled by the doctrines and articles of faith, which are masked by the pious words of sermons and books. Let my eyes penetrate the veil, and tear off the mask, that I can see your truth face to face.
John of the Cross, 1542-1591
