22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul [Lord of the flies],” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” [The theological commission is back and accusing Jesus of working for Satan. In times of revival, religious leaders often oppose the work of the Spirit as the scribes are doing here.] 23 And he called them to him and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. [Jesus tries using logic with his accusers, patiently working through what they deem satanic. His ministry of exorcism has been historic, and they are trying to use it against him.] 27 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house. [The conclusion is that Jesus has a power stronger than Satan’s. There will be no triumphant return for Satan because he has been bound and Jesus is plundering his house, setting people free from sin, disease, and death.]

28 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30 for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” [The eternal “unforgiveable” sin is of those who willfully reject the work of the Holy Spirit in the person and work of Jesus. They refuse the illuminating and miraculous work of the Spirit and justify themselves doing so by deliberately misrepresenting the work of Jesus as the theological hall monitor commissioners are now doing. They have slammed the door on Jesus and the forgiveness he offers. They are not forgiven because they reject Jesus’ forgiveness.]
